Volunteering

We meet for propagation and other nursery activities every Thursday morning at 9:30am at the FOWSP Nursery, adjacent to the Warrandyte State Park (Parks Victoria) depot, at the end of Pound Bend Road, Warrandyte.  Propagation takes place from 9:30 am to 12:30.  No prior experience necessary - there is always someone available to show you the ropes.   At around 11:00, a substantial and delicious morning tea is provided for all volunteers.

There are many other opportunities for volunteering, including getting our information trailer ready for the Warrandyte Riverside Market, staffing the trailer at the Market, and towing the trailer to and from the Market.

Thursday Activity Group (TAG)

On Thursdays a second group of enthusiastic volunteers go out into the Park to do planting, weed-control, fencing, and other tasks.   See the TAG Calendar to gain an idea of the benefit of tasks undertaken.

Often the TAG is led by a Parks Victoria Ranger, but sometimes is led by an experienced FOWSP member.

The work can be hard, but is always deeply satisfying.  Besides, there is always a substantial and delicious morning tea!
